Jam Session stands with a basket at her elbow and a blackberry halfway to her mouth, laughing before she’s even taken a bite. Excitement, anticipation and maybe a touch of mischief are certainly at play. Purple-stained fingers giving way to summer greens, the same jewel tones echoing from the beads in her hair to the berries she can’t stop sneaking. Every child who has ever picked berries knows this feeling, half the harvest never makes it home, and this painting catches her right in the middle of proving it.
